Andrew Hoskins

Andrew Hoskins (born December 20, 1975 in Edmonton ) is a former Canadian rower who won two world titles in eighth .

The approximately 1.90 m tall Andrew Hoskins from the Edmonton Rowing Club entered the rowing World Cup for the first time in 2000 and came in tenth place twice in the two-man category. In 2001 he won the World Cup opener in New Jersey with the four without a helmsman , but there were only two boats at the start. At the World Championships in Lucerne , he finished sixth with the Canadian eighth. In 2002, eighth in the line-up won Matt Swick , Kevin Light , Ben Rutledge , Kyle Hamilton , Joseph Stankevicius , Andrew Hoskins, Adam Kreek , Jeff Powell and helmsman Brian Price at the World Championships in Seville . With David Calder for Matt Swick, the Canadians defended their title at the 2003 World Championships in Milan . After victories in Munich and Lucerne in the 2004 World Cup, the Canadians only achieved fifth place at the Olympic regatta in Athens . After finishing seventh with eighth at the 2005 World Championships , Hoskins ended his career.

Andrew's younger sister Zoë Hoskins took part in the 2008 Olympic rowing competitions.
