World Rowing Championships 2001

The 2001 World Rowing Championships were held from August 19 to 26, 2001 on the Rotsee in Lucerne , Switzerland under the rules of the World Rowing Association (FISA). In 24 boat classes there were rowing world champion determined. 931 athletes in around 320 teams from 50 nations took part in the competition. The fourth edition of the World Rowing Championships in Lucerne after 1962 , 1974 and 1982 took place for the last time without boat classes in para rowing , which were only introduced for the 2002 World Rowing Championships in Seville .

Results

The medal winners from the A finals are listed here. These were manned by six boats, which had to qualify for the finals through preliminary runs, hope runs and semi-finals. The length of the course was 2000 meters in all races.
