Dirk Lippits

Dirk Reinier Lippits (* 3. May 1977 in Geldrop ) is a former Dutch rower , in 2000 he won the quadruple sculls Olympic silver medal.

Career

The 1.94 m tall Dirk Lippits achieved fourth place with the double scull in 1996 at the (unofficial) U23 World Championships , in 1997 he finished tenth in the double scull . In 1999 he reached fourth place at the World Championships with the double foursome . At the 2000 Olympic regatta in Sydney , Jochem Verberne , Dirk Lippits, Diederik Simon and Michiel Bartman won silver behind the Italian quad and ahead of the German boat.

At the 2001 World Championships in Lucerne, the German double scull won, Geert Cirkel , Lippits, Simon and Bartman received silver in front of the Italians. In 2002 Lippits switched to the single and finished fifth at the World Championships in Seville . After a ninth place at the 2003 World Championships , Lippits rowed to 16th place at the 2004 Olympic Games . Lippits was still active until 2007, but did not reach the A-final in the Rowing World Cup and did not take part in world championships.
