World Rowing Championships 2002
The 2002 World Rowing Championships were held from September 15-22 , 2002 by the World Rowing Federation (FISA) on the Guadalquivir River in Seville , Spain . 328 boats with 932 athletes from 53 countries were entered in 26 competitions. For the first time, world rowing champions were determined in para rowing in two classes among 38 athletes.
Due to favorable weather conditions on the regatta course , the world best times in eight boat classes could be improved. Of these, three world bests are still in existence today (as of December 2012).
