Thor Kristensen

Hans Thor Juul Kristensen (born June 4, 1980 in Silkeborg , Denmark ) is a former Danish rower . He was Olympic champion and world champion in the lightweight foursome without a helmsman .

Athletic career

At the U23 World Championships in 1999, Kristensen took sixth place in the four-man without a helmsman, and in 2000 he won the title in the lightweight four-man. In 2001 he won the last two World Cup regattas with the Danish foursome, Thomas Ebert , Thor Kristensen, Søren Madsen and Eskild Ebbesen won the silver medal behind the Austrian boat at the 2001 World Championships . In 2002 Stephan Mølvig joined Madsen. In the 2002 World Cup, the Danish four-man won two regattas, and at the 2002 World Championships, the Danes won two seconds ahead of the Italian boat. In 2003 the Danish four-man took first, second and third place in the World Cup. At the 2003 World Championships, the Danes won ahead of the Dutch. In 2004 Bo Helleberg rowed for Stephan Mølvig in the World Cup , the Danes won the first regatta and finished sixth in the second regatta. Before the Olympic Games in Athens Mølvig returned to the foursome and in the line-up of the World Championships in 2002 and 2003 the boat also won the Olympic regatta, 1.4 seconds behind the Danes the Australian boat crossed the finish line.

The 1.86 m tall Thor Kristensen competed for the Hadsund Roklub .
