Massimo Lana

Massimo Lana (* 18th July 1962 ) is a former Italian lightweight - rowers , who won from 1985 to 1993 seven World Cup medals, including six gold medals.

Athletic career

Lana won his first world championship title at the 1985 World Championships with the Italian lightweight eighth , which was followed by two further titles in the same boat class in 1986 and 1987 . Lana won his fourth world title in 1988 in the lightweight four-man without a helmsman .

In 1989 Lana switched to scull rowing , at the 1989 World Championships he finished tenth in the lightweight double sculls . From 1990 Lana belonged to the Italian lightweight quadruple scull with which he won two further world championship titles in 1990 and 1992 , in between was fifth place at the 1991 World Championships . At the end of his career, the 1.84 m tall Lana won silver with the quadruple scull in 1993 .
