Jacob Larsen

Jacob Larsen (born June 13, 1988 in Søllerød ) is a Danish rower and two-time world champion in the lightweight foursome without a helmsman .

Larsen started rowing in 1998. In 2005 and 2006 he entered the Junior World Championships in two without a helmsman , but did not reach the A final. In 2008 and 2009, Larsen was fifth in the U23 World Championships in the lightweight two-man without a helmsman . In 2010 he took part in World Cup regattas for the first time , at the U23 World Championships he finished fourth in the lightweight four-man without a helmsman. In 2011 Larsen won the bronze medal in the lightweight eighth at the world championships .

In 2013, Larsen moved firmly into the Danish lightweight four without a helmsman. Kasper Winther , Jacob Larsen, Jacob Barsøe and Morten Jørgensen won the title at the European Championships and then took second place in the World Cup twice. At the World Championships in Korea , the Danish four won ahead of the boats from New Zealand and the United Kingdom. At the beginning of June 2014 the four Danes also won the title at the European Rowing Championships in 2014 , followed by the world championship in August . In 2015 the Danish four-man teamed up with Kasper Winther, Jens Vilhelmsen , Jacob Barsøe and Jacob Larsen and won the bronze medal at the European championships behind the boats from Switzerland and France. At the 2015 World Championships , the Danes received silver behind the Swiss and ahead of the French. A year later, the Swiss won again at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , ahead of the Danes and the French.

The 1.83 m tall Larsen rows for the Bagsværd Roklub .
