Jochen Kühner

Jochen Kühner (born October 15, 1980 in Speyer ) is a German lightweight rower . In 2009 he became world champion in the four without a helmsman .

Jochen Kühner starts like his twin brother Martin for the RV Saarbrücken . In 2006 the two brothers were nominated as substitutes for the World Championships. In 2007 they won silver in the lightweight two-man . In 2008, together with Bastian Seibt and Jost Schömann-Finck, they qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing with the lightweight four-man without a helmsman .

The 1.86 meter tall Jochen Kühner is a candidate for a commissioner in the sports promotion group of the Saarland police.

International success

  • 2002: 5th place in the World Under 23 regatta in the lightweight four without a helmsman
  • 2007: 2nd place in the lightweight two-man championship without a helmsman
  • 2009: 1st place in the world championships in the lightweight foursome without a helmsman
