Xavier Dorfman

Xavier Dorfman Elle (* 12. May 1973 in Saint-Martin-d'Hères ) is a former French lightweight - rowers .

The rower from the Aviron Club du Lac d'Aiguebelette , who is 1.82 m tall and predestined for lightweight rowing , took seventh place in the lightweight four-man team at the 1993 World Rowing Championships . A year later , he reached fifth place. Dorfman won his first international medal at the 1995 World Rowing Championships , when he and Sébastien Bel finished second behind the Italian lightweight two-man without helmsman. At the Olympic premiere of lightweight rowing in Atlanta in 1996 , Dorfman took seventh place with the lightweight foursome as the winner of the B final.

At the 1997 World Rowing Championships , the four-man in the new composition with Xavier Dorfman, Frederic Pinon , Yves Hocdé and Laurent Porchier won the silver medal behind the Danish crew in front of a home crowd on Lac d'Aiguebelette . In 1998 in Cologne , the French boat with the same line-up again rowed silver behind the Danes. At the 1999 World Championships in St. Catharines, Canada, the Danes won ahead of the Australian foursome, while the French with Jean-David Bernard , Dorfman, Hocdè and Porchier received the bronze medal. In 2000 the French lightweight four-man won both the Rowing World Cup in Munich and Lucerne. At the Olympic Games in Sydney , the French team with Xavier Dorfman at the loft, Jean-Christophe Bette , Yves Hocdé and bowman Laurent Porchier won ahead of the Australian rowers and the Danes.

At the 2001 World Rowing Championships, the lightweight foursome won the bronze medal in the line-up for Olympic victory; all four rowers also sat in the French lightweight eighth and received the gold medal in this boat class. Dorfman competed in the World Cup in 2003 and 2006, but no longer won international medals.
