Stefan Wallat

Stefan Wallat (* 15. February 1987 in Oberhausen ) is a German lightweight - rowers . His greatest successes are two victories at the world championships in 2014 and 2015 in the lightweight eighth .

Wallat started rowing at the Oberhausen rowing club in 1999 , but later switched to the Duisburg rowing club . In 2008 he finished sixth in the lightweight two-man without helmsman at the U23 World Championships . In 2009 he entered the adult class of the World Championships and finished sixth with the lightweight eighth. In 2011 Wallat rowed in the lightweight quadruple sculls and won the silver medal in this boat class at the World Championships in Bled . In 2012 he returned to oar rowing and took fifth place at the European Championships with the lightweight four-man without a helmsman . In 2013 Tobias Franzmann , Stefan Wallat, Daniel Wisgott and Lasse Antczak won the title in four at the 2013 Summer Universiade .

In 2014 Wallat returned to the German lightweight eighth after five years and won the gold medal in this boat class at the 2014 World Championships. A year later, the German eighth defended his title from the previous year with Franzmann. At the 2015 Summer Universiade , Tobias Franzmann, Stefan Wallat, Torben Neumann and Can Temel took second place in the lightweight foursome.
