Christian Dahlke

Christian Dahlke (born January 4, 1969 in Hamburg ) is a former German rower .

Life

In 1983 he began rowing as a competitive athlete at the rowing club Allemannia from 1866 in Hamburg, mainly in the lightweight class . He was German champion 13 times in different boat classes and started 12 times at rowing world championships with the following successes: once gold, twice silver and bronze as well as five fourth places. Dahlke belongs to the German team in the lightweight eighth that has held the world record in this boat class since 1992 .

Christian Dahlke also learned a publishing clerk and then studied sports science . Since 1999 he has been working as a freelance sports advisor. His enthusiasm for rowing is documented in a worldwide consulting activity for college, university and national teams. Occasionally he was also in the USA, especially in New York, as a coach at various clubs.

A Hamburg university eight started under his leadership (with Ole Rückbrodt and Joel El-Qalqili ) in Taiwan and won. In the 2006 season he was the head coach of the Favorite Hammonia rowing club in Hamburg. Since November 2006 he has been working for his home club, the rowing club Allemannia .

In autumn 2015, Dahlke and national coach Tim Schönberg took over the lightweight project of the German Rowing Association with the aim of qualifying the lightweight foursome for the 2016 Olympic Games, which was not successful at the 2015 World Cup in Aiguebelette, France.
