The rowing club "Allemannia von 1866" is one of the four traditional rowing clubs on the Outer Alster in Hamburg . It was founded in 1866 through a spin-off from the rowing club "Emilie". This split was motivated by a reorientation towards racing rowing, so that the Allemannia still has an active competitive sports group with considerable successes (world champions and German champions).

School rowing is also promoted by the rowing club. The Brecht School is in cooperation with Allemannia.

Since 2008, Allemannia has been supporting the ranks of the private Hamburg School of Business Administration , which competes annually in the Hanse Boat Race against the ranks of the private Jacobs University Bremen .

The rowing club has also been accepting women since spring 2019.
