Peter Ording

Peter Ording (born December 22, 1976 in Stade ) is a former German rower . His greatest success was winning the title at the World Championships in the lightweight single in 2004.

Ording became German champion in the lightweight singles for the first time in 2000 and was nominated for the World Championships in Zagreb , where he finished 13th in this boat class. The following year he lost his championship title to Ingo Euler , but since he started in the lightweight double scull, Ording rowed again in the single at the 2001 World Rowing Championships and reached the B final, overall he finished tenth.

In 2002 Ording started together with Manuel Brehmer in the lightweight double sculls, at the World Championships in Seville they finished fourth. In 2003 Ording was again German champion in the lightweight single, but lost his place in the Olympic double scull again to Euler. At the World Championships in Milan he won a medal for the first time, in the lightweight single he won bronze.

Ording achieved his greatest success in 2004, at the World Championships in Banyoles he became world champion in the lightweight single.

Ording, who last started for Lübeck RG , then ended his career.
