Zac Purchase MBE (born May 2, 1986 in Cheltenham ) is a British rower. He started in the lightweight single and has been rowing the lightweight double scull since 2007.

Purchase started rowing in 1999. In 2003 and 2004 he took part in the Junior World Championships . His breakthrough came in the 2005 season when he first came fourth in the World Cup at the event on Dorney Lake and second on the regatta course in Oberschleissheim . Eventually he was world champion at the U23 World Championships in Amsterdam and won the silver medal at the 2005 World Championships in Gifu behind the Greek Vasileios Polymeros . 2006 turned out to be his most successful season to date. First he came to his first World Cup victory on the Lucerne Rotsee . In August 2006 he won the lightweight single title at the World Championships on Dorney Lake.

Since the lightweight single is not an Olympic boat class, Purchase switched to the lightweight double scull in the 2007 pre-Olympic season. Together with Mark Hunter , he came second twice and third once in the World Cup, and they both finished third at the World Championships. In the 2008 World Cup season, the two Brits dominated and won all three events. Also at the Olympic Games in 2008 the two managed a sure victory.

After a year break, the two returned in 2010, after a World Cup victory in Munich and fifth place in Lucerne, the two won the World Championships in New Zealand. They successfully defended their title a year later in Bled. At the 2012 Olympic Games, the two Englishmen lost to the Danes Mads Rasmussen and Rasmus Quist .
