Kristoffer Brun (* 7. April 1988 in Bergen ) is a Norwegian lightweight - rowers . In 2013 he was world champion in the lightweight double scull .

Career

The 1.75 m tall rower from the Bergens Roklub took part in both the U23 World Championships in 2007 , where he reached the C final in the lightweight single , as well as the European Championships , where he and Are Strandli competed in the lightweight double scull in the B -Final rowed. In 2008, Brun and Strandli took seventh place at the U23 World Championships as winners of the B final, and in the following year they achieved eighth place. At the 2011 World Championships , Brun started in the lightweight single and finished in seventh place.

The lightweight single is not an Olympic discipline, at the 2012 Olympic Games Brun and Strandli reached the B-final and finished ninth overall. At the 2014 World Championships, South Africans James Thompson and John Smith won ahead of Delayre / Azou and Brun / Strandli. In 2015, Delayre and Azou won the title at both the European and World Championships, ahead of the British Richard Chambers and William Fletcher , Kristoffer Brun and Are Strandli each received the bronze medal. At the European Championships in 2016 , the Irish double scull won ahead of the German boat, Brun and Strandli took third place as in the previous year. In the 2017 season, Brun started in the lightweight single and finished fourth at the European Championships in May and third at the World Championships in September. In 2018, Brun and Strandli started together again in the lightweight double scull and won the title at the European Championships .
