Pierre Houin (* 15. April 1994 in Toul ) is a French lightweight - rowers .

Houin took part in the Junior World Championships in 2011 and 2012 , but missed the A-final in each case. In 2013 he won the silver medal in the lightweight double sculls at the U23 World Championships together with Damien Piqueras , the following year Houin and Eloi Debourdeau received the bronze medal. At the beginning of the 2015 season, Pierre Houin won the European championships in the lightweight single . In this boat class he also won the Rowing World Cup in Varese and the U23 World Championships. At the world championships on the Lac d'Aiguebelette he stepped in front of his home crowd with Maxime Demontfaucon , Damien Piqueras and Morgan Maunoir in lightweight sculls , winning one of two world titles for the hosts. Stany Delayre and Jérémie Azou won the other title in the lightweight double scull, which, in contrast to the lightweight double scull, is one of the Olympic boat classes.

In 2016, Pierre Houin switched to Jérémie Azou in the lightweight double sculls, the two French won the World Cup regattas in Lucerne and Poznan. The two achieved their greatest success at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, when they won the gold medal half a second ahead of the second-placed Irish. At the European Championships in 2017, Houin and Azou won with over two seconds ahead of the Irish lightweight double scull, at the World Championships in Florida with a boat length ahead of the Italian boat.

For his Olympic victory at the end of 2016 he received the Knight's Cross of the Legion of Honor .
