Luca Moncada

Luca Moncada (* 3. April 1978 in Palermo ) is a former Italian lightweight - rowers , who between 2001 and 2007 six gold medals at World Rowing Championships won.

Moncada started rowing in 1993. In 1998 and 1999 he won the title at the U23 World Championships with the Italian lightweight double quad . In 2000 he reached fifth place in the lightweight single at the World Cup in Vienna. At the rowing world championships in 2000 , he rowed the Italian lightweight eighth to eighth place.

In 2001 he switched to the four-four, with which he won six world championship titles in the following years, mostly he sat on the pitch behind the batsman. In addition to the World Championship regattas, he also won five World Cup regattas with the double scull, and he finished his last international regatta in 2008 at the World Cup in Poznan in second place.

With a height of 1.78 meters, Moncada had a typical competition weight of around 71 kilograms for lightweights .
