Fintan McCarthy

Fintan McCarthy (* 23. November 1996 ) is an Irish lightweight - rowers .

McCarthy competed in the lightweight quadruple sculls at the U23 World Championships in 2016 and reached fifth place. The following year he and his twin brother Jacob McCarthy finished eighth in the lightweight double sculls , and in 2018 the two finished fifth. At the 2018 World Championships in Plovdiv, the two also achieved fifth place with the lightweight quadruple scull.

In 2019, the brothers took fifth place at the European Championships in Lucerne . At the final of the 2019 Rowing World Cup , Fintan McCarthy competed with Paul O'Donovan and took second place behind the German boat with Jason Osborne and Jonathan Rommelmann . At the 2019 World Championships in Linz-Ottensheim, McCarthy and O'Donovan won ahead of the Italians Stefano Oppo and Pietro Ruta , and the German boat received the bronze medal.
