Pietro Ruta
Pietro Willy Ruta (* 6. August 1987 in Gravedona ) is an Italian lightweight - rowers .
Career
The 1.85 m tall Ruta won the silver medal in the lightweight quadruple sculls at the U23 World Championships in 2008, and the Italian lightweight quadruple sculls won in 2009. In 2010, the easy Italian double scull won with Franco Sancassani , Pietro Ruta, Fabrizio Gabriele and Stefano Basalini at the European Championships . At the World Championships , the Italians took fourth place. In 2011 Ruta rowed in the lightweight single , at the world championships he won the silver medal behind the Dane Henrik Stephansen . In 2012 he rowed at the 2012 Olympic Games together with Elia Luini in the lightweight double sculls , the two finished in seventh place. At the 2012 World Championships , Ruta took fourth place in the lightweight single.
2013 Ruta together with Andrea Micheletti reached fourth place in the lightweight double scull at the European Championships and the World Championships ; In 2014, the two repeated fourth places at both European and World Championships . At the 2015 World Championships , Micheletti and Ruta rowed to fifth place, thereby qualifying for an Italian lightweight double scull at the 2016 Olympic Games . Marcello Miani and Andrea Micheletti took eighth place in Rio de Janeiro. In 2017 Stefano Oppo and Pietro Ruta formed the new Italian lightweight double scull. In 2019, the two Italians took second place behind the German boat at the European Championships in Lucerne.
