Chaillevois is a French municipality with 174 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (before 2016 Picardy ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Laon , the canton of Laon-1 ( Anizy-le-Château until 2015 ) and the Picardie des Châteaux municipal association .
geography
The community is located around ten kilometers southwest of the Laon prefecture . Chaillevois is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Merlieux-et-Fouquerolles in the west, Montbavin in the north, Royaucourt-et-Chailvet in the east and the municipality of Chavignon in the south, which belongs to the canton of Fère-en-Tardenois . The area around Chaillevois is criss-crossed by a multitude of hiking trails and paths.

During the First World War , Chaillevois was occupied by the German army from September 1914 to October 1918.
