Attractions

  • Prémontré Abbey : The original buildings of the monastery, founded in 1120, soon became too small; around 1140–1150 a new monastery was built at a different location. In the 18th century it was completely rebuilt in the Baroque style. The abbey was closed in 1790 during the French Revolution; the library and the original interior are no longer there. The buildings are now used as a psychiatric hospital; only a small part is open to the public.
