Mâchecourt is a French municipality with 122 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (before 2016 Picardy ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Laon , the canton of Guignicourt (until 2015 Sissonne ) and the commune association of Champagne Picarde .

geography

The municipality is located around 24 kilometers east of Laon Prefecture . Mâchecourt is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Goudelancourt-lès-Pierrepont in the northeast, Bucy-lès-Pierrepont in the east, Chivres-en-Laonnois in the south, on a short section of Liesse-Notre-Dame in the southwest and the municipalities in the canton of Marle Pierrepont in the west, Vesles-et-Caumont in the northwest and Autremencourt in the north.

history

Until their abolition in 1879, the municipalities of Mâchecourt and Chivres-en-Laonnois formed a common municipality called Chivres-et-Mâchecourt .
