Blérancourt is a French commune with 1,290 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (2015: Picardy ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Laon and the canton of Vic-sur-Aisne .
geography
Blérancourt is about 34 kilometers west-southwest of Laon above the Ailette valley. Blérancourt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Camelin in the north and northwest, Besmé in the north, Saint-Paul-aux-Bois in the northeast, Saint-Aubin in the east, Vassens and Audignicourt in the south and Nampcel in the west.
