Elmar Reinhold Laaman , actually Laamann (* January 30 . Jul / 12. February  1906 greg. In Viljandi , Governorate of Estonia ; † 24. May 1942 in a POW camp in the Soviet Union ) was an Estonian footballer Baltic German origin.

Life

Elmar Laaman played for JK Tallinna Kalev in the Estonian football championship at least in 1925 . As well as in 1927 with Tallinna JK . With both clubs he was runner-up behind the SK Tallinna Sport .

He completed his school education in 1927 at the Gustav Adolf High School in Tallinn. He was part of the Fraternitas Estica student association . From 1932 to 1934 he worked in the textile industry in Czechoslovakia . From 1937 he was employed by the Viljandi linavabrik , which processed flax fiber for the linen industry .

In World War II , Laaman served as an ensign in the 7th Infantry Regiment (Estonian: 7th Jalaväerügement). In January 1941 he was arrested by the Soviets. He died on May 24, 1942 in a prisoner-of-war camp in the Soviet Union .
