Villeneuve-sur-Aisne is a French commune with 2,704 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Laon and the Canton of Guignicourt .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 by amalgamating the previous municipalities of Guignicourt and Menneville , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Guignicourt.

geography
The community is located around 30 kilometers southeast of Laon . The river Aisne runs along the southern border of the municipality with the parallel Canal Latéral à l'Aisne , to the west the A26 motorway .
Neighboring communities are: Prouvais in the north, Proviseux-et-Plesnoy in the north-east, Neufchâtel-sur-Aisne in the east, Pignicourt in the south-east, Variscourt in the south, Condé-sur-Suippe in the south-west, Juvincourt-et-Damary in the west and Amifontaine in the north-west .
