Camelin is a French municipality with 454 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Laon and the canton of Vic-sur-Aisne .

geography

The municipality of Camelin lies on the border with the Oise department , 25 kilometers northwest of Soissons and ten kilometers southeast of Noyon . The districts of Bresson, Marivaux and Lombray belong to Camelin

history

During the French Revolution , Camelin et le Fresne was formed from the villages of Camelin and Le Fresne, which was later only called Camelin. In 1971 the neighboring towns of Marivaux and Lombray were incorporated.
