It belongs to the Laon arrondissement , the Laon-1 canton ( Laon-Nord until 2015 ) and the Pays de Laon municipal association . The municipality should not be confused with the neighboring municipality of Cerny-lès-Bucy .

Bucy-lès-Cerny is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Crépy in the north, Cerny-lès-Bucy in the east, Molinchart in the southeast, Cessières-Suzy in the south and southwest and the municipality of Saint-Gobain in the canton of Tergnier in the west.
