geography
Ognes is about 31 kilometers west-northwest of Laon . Ognes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Caumont in the north and northwest, Chauny in the east, Abbécourt in the south and west and Neuflieux in the west.
The former route nationale 32 (today's D1032) runs through the municipality .
