Crécy-sur-Serre is about 15 kilometers north of Laon . Here the Souche flows into the Serre River . Crécy-sur-Serre is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Pargny-les-Bois in the north, Bois-lès-Pargny in the north and northeast, Mortiers in the east, Chalandry in the south and southeast, Chéry-lès-Pouilly in the south, Pouilly-sur- Serre in the west and south-west and Montigny-sur-Crécy in the west and north-west.
