Here died in 741 , Charles Martel , the main residence was Pippin the Younger and the decisions were made that the establishment of the Papal States led ( Pippinsche donation ) In 877 finally adopted Karl the Bald here the Kapitular of Quierzy . Presumably, the Palatinate was largely destroyed by the Normans a few years later, in 890/891 .
The area around Quierzy remained the kingdom of the king, only Philip I transferred it to the Bishop of Noyon , who continued to use the Palatinate and only gave it up in the 16th century in favor of the Château de Quierzy on the banks of the Oise . Until the French Revolution, the country successively fell into the hands of the Chérisy, Montmorency , Roye, Halluin, Brûlart and Bussy-Rabutin families .
