Trosly-Loire is a French commune with a population of 613 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France (before 2016: Picardy ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Laon and the canton of Vic-sur-Aisne .

geography

Trosly-Loire is located about 34 kilometers west-southwest of Laon above the Ailette valley. The community is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Paul-aux-Bois in the north and north-west, Champs in the north and north-east, Guny in the east, Épagny in the south, Vézaponin in the south-west, Selens in the west and south-west and Saint-Aubin in the west.

history

In 909 and 927 the Councils of Trosly took place here. In 921 a synod met here. Archbishop Herivaeus von Reims complained in 909 that the secular influence on the churches and monasteries had become rampant.
