Parish Church of Saint Aegidi
The Roman Catholic parish church of Sankt Aegidi is located in the municipality of Sankt Aegidi in the Schärding district in Upper Austria . The church consecrated to St. Aegidius belongs to the deanery Peuerbach in the diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .
history
A church was mentioned in a document in 1293. The Gothic choir is from the 16th century.
architecture
The late Gothic three-bay (the bays are unequal) ribbed vaulted choir has a three-eighth end. The single nave nave has a barrel vault. The west tower has a baroque helmet.
Furnishing
The decor is neo-Gothic. The high altar bears late Gothic statues of St. Wolfgang and St. Bernhard from the end of the 15th century. In the choir is a painting of the Assumption from the end of the 17th century from the demolished Pankraz Church.
