Abbécourt is a French municipality with 498 inhabitants (1 January 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France .

geography

The municipality of Abbécourt is located on the right bank of the Oise and the parallel Canal latéral à l'Oise , four kilometers southwest of Chauny and about 30 kilometers south of Saint-Quentin . The Oise-Aisne Canal branches off towards the south at Abbécourt .

Abbécourt's neighboring municipalities are Vesles-et-Caumont in the north, Ognes in the northeast, Chauny in the east, Bichancourt in the southeast, Manicamp in the south, Quierzy in the southwest, Marest-Dampcourt in the west and Neuflieux in the northwest.

Economy and Infrastructure

In addition to farms, there are small metalworking companies and a carpentry shop in Abbécourt. The railway line from Creil to Jeumont runs right through Abbécourt as part of the old railway line from Paris to Brussels . The trunk road from Saint-Quentin to Compiègne runs north of the village center .
