The municipality is located on the Aisne River , about 25 kilometers northwest of Reims . In the north, the municipality extends to the southern slope of the Chemin des Dames ridge .

history

Not far from the municipality, three battles took place during the Second World War in 1914 , 1917 and 1918 . On 9/10 June 1940 the 45th Infantry Division of the German Wehrmacht crossed the Aisne during the western campaign at Cuiry-lès-Chaudardes.
