Joachim Drews

Joachim Drews (* 30th June 1980 in Hamburg ) is a former German lightweight - rowers .

In 1989 Joachim Drews began his rowing career at the rowing club Allemannia from 1866 in Hamburg, but Drews did not participate in competitive sports until 1997.

His greatest success was winning the 2003 rowing world championships in the lightweight eighth of the German team, with Bastian Seibt and Christian Dahlke , among others .

After the rowing world championships in 2007 Drews ended his active career, in 2008 Drews successfully completed his studies to become a sports scientist. In 2009 he became the trainer of the regatta team of the Seeclub Küsnacht . In addition to his work as a trainer, Drews is also the owner of Rowing Academy GmbH .
