World Rowing Championships 1992

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1992 World Rowing Championships were held on the regatta course on the Île Notre-Dame in Montreal , Canada under the rules of the World Rowing Federation (FISA). The 14 Olympic boat classes were not deployed because of the Olympic rowing regatta in Barcelona in 1992, so that the rowing world champions were only determined in eight non-Olympic lightweight boat classes . The finals took place on August 16, 1992.

In the course of the rowing regatta some world best times could be improved due to very favorable weather conditions . In the men's lightweight eighth, this is still there today (as of June 2019).

Results

The medal winners from the A finals are listed here. These were manned by six boats, which had to qualify for the finals through preliminary runs, hope runs and semi-finals. The length of the course was 2000 meters in all races.
