World Rowing Championships 1978

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1978 World Rowing Championships were divided into two rowing regattas and carried out under the rules of the World Rowing Federation (FISA). Rowing world champions were determined in 18 boat classes .

The title competitions in 14 boat classes of the open weight class (no weight limit for the rowers) took place on Lake Karapiro near Hamilton , New Zealand . The regatta was held from October 30th to November 5th, 1978. The finals in four lightweight boat classes had already taken place on August 6, 1978 on Lake Bagsværd near Copenhagen , Denmark . Such a division of the World Rowing Championships into two rowing regattas only existed in 1978.
