Mariann Ambrus , after marriage to Mariann Feketé , (born April 24, 1956 in Budapest ; † October 19, 2007 there ) was a Hungarian rower .

life and career

Mariann Ambrus took seventh place in the single at the European Championships in 1973 as the winner in the B final . At the World Championships in 1975 in Nottingham, she won the silver medal behind Christine Scheiblich from the GDR in the single , with the Hungarian eighth she won the B final and took seventh place. At the Olympic premiere in women's rowing in Montreal in 1976 , Mariann Ambrus made it to the finals, but she only reached the finish as sixth and last. At the 1977 World Championships , Ambrus rowed the bronze medal behind Scheiblich and the Bulgarian Iskra Velinova . In 1978 in New Zealand Christine Scheiblich won again, behind the Soviet rower Anna Kondraschina Mariann Ambrus again received the bronze medal. At the 1979 World Championships and the 1980 Olympic Games , Mariann Ambrus rowed to eighth place in the single. In the following years, Mariann Ambrus no longer rowed internationally, but in the larger skull boats . With the Hungarian double scull she finished fourth at the 1981 World Championships as well as at the 1983 World Championships with the double scull .
