Anne Dickmann

Anne Dickmann (born February 12, 1958 in Düsseldorf ) is a former German rower . Her greatest success was the silver medal in the quadruple scull at the 1978 World Championships.

Athletic career

The 1.69 m tall rower initially started for the Neuss rowing club and moved to the Cologne rowing club from 1877 in the early 1980s .

At the 1978 World Championships on Lake Karapiro in New Zealand, Anne Dickmann, Veronika Walterfang , Petra Finke , Sabine Reuter and Kathrien Plückhahn took second place, 1.42 seconds behind the Bulgarians. In 1980 the rowers from the Federal Republic of Germany missed participation in the Olympic rowing regatta because of the Olympic boycott .

In 1984 Anne Dickmann took part in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles with the double scull . Anne Dickmann, Regina Kleine-Kuhlmann , Ute Kumitz , Sabine Reuter and Kathrien Plückhahn took last place in their preliminary run, but qualified second in the hope race for the finals. In the final, they finished fourth, 0.79 seconds behind the third-placed Danes.

German championships

Anne Dickmann won a total of five German championship titles in the four-four, which was held with a helmsman until 1984.

There was also a championship title in double sculls.
