Klaus Roloff

Klaus Roloff (born March 20, 1952 in Berlin ) is a former German rower who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany .

The 1.86 m tall Klaus Roloff from the Potsdamer Ruder Club Germania in West Berlin won the gold medal in the four without a helmsman at the Junior World Championships in 1969 , and in 1970 he took third place in the same boat class. In 1973 he finished fifth with the eighth place at the European Championships , in 1975 the eighth missed the A-final at the world championships and finished seventh.

At the Olympic Games in Montreal , the German four-man without a helmsman in the line-up of Bernhard Foelkel , Klaus Meyer , Wolfgang Horak and Johann Konertz competed and won their preliminary run. From the semifinals on, Klaus Roloff replaced the sick Klaus Meyer, the crew took third place in the semifinals and sixth place in the final.

In 1977 Roloff returned to the Germany eight . At the 1977 World Championships in Amstelveen, the eighth won the bronze medal behind the boats from the GDR and the Soviet Union. The following year, the GDR eighth won the World Championships on Lake Karapiro in New Zealand, ahead of the boat from the Federal Republic. In 1979 in Bled , Klaus Roloff finished ninth with the German eighth.

At the German championships, Roloff started from 1977 to 1980 with racing groups in the eighth. He won the championship title in 1977, 1979 and 1980 and took second place in 1978.
