Dolores Nakowa

Dolores Sdrawkowa Nakowa ( Bulgarian Долорес Здравкова Накова ; born June 15, 1957 in Russe ) is a former Bulgarian rower . She won an Olympic bronze medal. She won a gold and a silver medal at world championships.

Athletic career

The 1.79 m tall Dolores Nakowa competed in two boat classes at the 1977 World Championships in Amstelveen and took fifth place in both the two without helmsman and the eighth . In 1978 she switched to the double quad with a helmsman . Anka Bakowa , Dolores Nakowa, Rumeljana Bontschewa , Rossitsa Spassowa and helmsman Anka Eftimowa won in front of the boat from the Federal Republic of Germany and the boat from the Soviet Union. 1979 moved Mariana Serbesowa for Spassowa and Ani Filipowa for Eftimowa in the boat. At the 1979 World Championships in Bled, the Bulgarians won the silver medal behind the boat from the GDR and ahead of the Romanians. In 1980 Anka Eftimowa returned under the name Anka Georgijewa as a taxwoman . Mariana Serbesowa, Rumeljana Bontschewa, Dolores Nakowa and Anka Bakowa won the preliminary run at the Olympic Games in Moscow in front of the boats from the Soviet Union and the GDR with Georgiev at the wheel . In the final, the boat from the GDR won ahead of the Soviet four and the Bulgarians. At the end of her career, Nakowa competed at the 1981 World Championships in Munich with a new set of four-four and finished in fifth place.
