Jutta Lau

Jutta Lau (born September 28, 1955 in Wustermark ) is a former German rower and today's rowing trainer. She is one of the best trainers in the world and was named Coach of the Year by the World Rowing Federation FISA in 2001 .

At the 2000 Olympic Games, her athletes won gold in the double scull (with Kerstin Kowalski on the beat and sister Manja Kowalski in the bow) and double scull (with Kathrin Boron ), the one won bronze and the lightweight double scull silver.

At the 2004 Olympic Games, her athletes won gold in double sculls (again with Kerstin Kowalski on strike and Kathrin Boron in bow) and single ( Katrin Rutschow-Stomporowski ), silver in double sculls and lightweight double sculls.

Jutta Lau herself was Olympic champion in 1976 and 1980 in the four-four . In 1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979 she became world champion. In 1977 she tried her hand at one , but lost to Christine Scheiblich in the GDR championship . During her active time she started for SG Dynamo Potsdam .
