Anke Borchmann

Anke Borchmann (* 23. June 1954 in Neukalen as Anke Green Mountain ) is a former rower from the GDR . She was an Olympic champion and two-time world champion.

In 1974 she was first GDR champion in the double scull under her maiden name and took third place in the double scull .

At the rowing world championships in 1975 she won the title in the double foursome. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal , she won Olympic gold in quadruples together with Roswietha Zobelt , Jutta Lau , Viola Poley and helmsman Liane Weigelt . In 1977 she won the double scull competition at the World Championships together with Roswietha Zobelt. In 1976 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in Silver for her Olympic victory in Montreal .

The rower of the SG unit Potsdam was trained by Barbara Müller. After her career she worked for the NVA . After the reunification her employment was taken over by the water police.
