Eve Macfarlane

Eve Macfarlane (born September 27, 1992 in Rangiora ) is a New Zealand rower . In 2015 she won the world title in double sculls .

Eve Macfarlane started rowing in 2009 and in the same year she won the silver medal with the New Zealand eighth at the Junior World Championships in 2009 , at the Junior World Championships in 2010 she won with the four-man without a helmsman . Also in 2010 she competed at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and finished seventh in a pair of two.

In 2011, Macfarlane switched from oar rowing to scull rowing . At the 2011 World Championships , she competed with Sarah Gray , Louise Trappitt and Fiona Bourke in double fours and won the bronze medal. In the same line-up, the boat took seventh place at the 2012 Olympics . In 2013, Macfarlane started with the New Zealand eighth and finished seventh at the World Championships .

After a year without international racing, Eve Macfarlane returned in 2015 as a partner of Zoe Stevenson in a double scull. The two won the World Cup in Varese and Lucerne. At the 2015 World Championships on Lac d'Aiguebelette, the two New Zealanders won the title ahead of the Greek and German boats. At the 2016 Olympics , Stevenson and Macfarlane finished twelfth.

After the Olympic Games, she took a break and only started again in international competitions in 2019. She switched to oars and started at the World Cups in Poznan and Rotterdam in a foursome without a helmsman. In this boat class, she also competed at the 2019 World Championships , where she finished 11th.
