Galina Nikanorovna Yermolayeva
Galina Nikanorovna Yermolajewa , née Suslina ( Russian Галина Никаноровна Ермолаева (-Суслина) ; born October 21, 1948 in Leningrad ) is a former Soviet rower who won an Olympic silver medal in 1976.
Athletic career
The 1.84 m tall rower from Trud Leningrad won the silver medal in the double scull behind Gisela Jäger and Rita Schmidt from the GDR at the European Championships in 1970 together with Elisaveta Kondraschina . Suslina and Kondraschina won the European Championships in 1971 and 1972 .
After their marriage, Galina Jermolajewa competed at the 1974 World Championships with Jelena Antonowa , the two of whom won ahead of the two West German rowers Astrid Hohl and Regine Adam . Also in 1975 Antonowa and Jermolajewa won the world championship, this time ahead of Sabine Jahn and Petra Boesler from the GDR.
In the Olympic debut of Frauenruderns 1976 Montreal Galina Jermolajewa launched together with Anna Kondraschina , Mira Brjunina , Larissa Alexandrovna and tax wife Nadezhda Chernyshova in the quadruple sculls . The boat from the GDR won ahead of the Soviet double fours and the Romanians.
