Magdalena Fularczyk-Kozłowska (born September 16, 1986 in Wąbrzeźno ) is a Polish rower . She won gold in double sculls at the 2016 Olympics .

Career

Magdalena Fularczyk started rowing in 2000. In 2002 she won the silver medal in double sculls at the Junior World Championships . In 2007 and 2008 she was also third in the double scull at the U23 World Championships . At the end of 2008 she and Natalia Madaj received the silver medal at the European Rowing Championships in 2008 .

In 2009 Fularczyk won her first World Cup regatta in a double scull with Julia Michalska in Munich. After finishing second in Lucerne, the pair won the World Championships in Poznan and won one of two gold medals for the Polish team. In 2010 Fularczyk and Michalska received the silver medal at the 2010 European Rowing Championships behind the German boat. At the 2010 World Rowing Championships in New Zealand, the Polish women took third place behind the British and Australians. A year later, the Polish women were fifth at the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled. At the Olympiaregatta 2012 in Eton , the two Poles were again behind the British and Australians.

In 2013 Natalia Madaj moved back to Fularczyk-Kozłowska in the double scull, who finished second behind the Lithuanian boat at the 2013 European Rowing Championships . In the 2013 World Cup season, Fularczyk-Kozłowska and Madaj competed in quadruples , and at the 2013 World Rowing Championships in Chungju , the Polish quadruple took third place. In 2014, Fularczyk-Kozłowska and Madaj returned to the double scull and won the title at the 2014 European Rowing Championships , and at the 2014 World Rowing Championships , the two Polish women won the silver medal behind New Zealand. In 2015, Fularczyk-Kozłowska and Madaj started in double sculls, and at the European Championships in Poznan they won the only gold medal for the host country. After the two Polish women qualified fourth at the 2015 World Championships for the 2016 Olympic Games, they won the 2016 World Cup regattas in Varese and Poznan. At the 2016 Olympic Games, the Polish women won the preliminary, semi-finals and finals.

Fularczyk married in January 2013, since then she has started under her married name Fularczyk-Kozłowska.
