Mărioara Popescu-Ciobanu (born November 9, 1962 in Corlăteni , Botoșani district ) is a former Romanian rower .

Popescu first took part in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , where she won the gold medal in a double scull. After a fifth place in the one four years later at the Olympic Games in Seoul , she was able to get a gold medal again in eighth place at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta .
