Eleanor "Elle" Logan (born December 27, 1987 in Portland , Maine ) is an American rower .
Logan, who starts for the Stanford University team , began her career as a basketball player in high school. In 2003 and 2006 she won the New England Basketball Championships with the Brooks School . In 2004, 2005 and 2006 she was on the New England Basketball All-Star Team. In 2004 she started rowing on the side. She had her first national appearance at the Can-Am-Mex Games in 2004. At the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Brandenburg an der Havel , she was eighth in the United States and finished fourth.
About the U23 area in 2007, where Logan won a bronze medal in the US eight, she recommended herself for the strong US national team in the women's belt area . At the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2007 , she won the silver medal with the team. A year later at the, she won her first gold medal at the 2008 Olympics together with Erin Cafaro , Lindsay Shoop , Anna Goodale , Anna Cummins , Susan Francia , Caroline Lind , Caryn Davies and Mary Whipple .
In the new Olympic cycle, Logan initially slipped into the four without a helmsman , which won the silver medal at the World Championships in Poznan . Then she moved back up to the top team, the eighth, and became world champion in this boat class in 2010 and 2011 . The Americans then won the gold medal as favorites at the Olympic Games in London with the line-up of Erin Cafaro, Zsuzsanna Francia, Esther Lofgren , Taylor Ritzel , Meghan Musnicki , Elle Logan, Caroline Lind, Caryn Davies and Mary Whipple.
After the London Games Logan took a trip to the scull area and started in the one for the United States at the 2013 World Championships in Chungju . She was able to qualify for the final there, but then only finished fifth. The following year she moved back into eighth position and won her third world title at the 2014 World Championships in Amsterdam. 2015 she won in two without coxswain the bronze medal at the World Championships in Aiguebelette together with Felice Mueller . In 2016 Logan returned to the eighth. The winning streak of the US eighth at World Championships and Olympic Games, which has been going on since 2006, continued at the 2016 Olympic Games as Emily Regan , Kerry Simmonds , Amanda Polk , Lauren Schmetterling , Tessa Gobbo , Meghan Musnicki, Elle Logan, Amanda Elmore and helmswoman Katelin Snyder won ahead of the British and Romanians.
