Victoria "Vicky" Opitz (born June 5, 1988 in Madison , Wisconsin ) is an American rower and three-time world champion in eight .

Opitz began rowing at the University of Wisconsin in 2006 . In 2011 she graduated in Political and Communication Sciences. She lives and trains in Princeton , New Jersey.

She made her international debut in the US eight with a win at the Rowing World Cup 2013 in Lucerne. At the 2013 World Championships in Chungju , the US eight won the title. In 2014 Victoria Opitz also won a World Cup regatta with eighth on Lac d'Aiguebelette . At the same event, she finished fourth in a pair without a helmsman together with Meghan Musnicki , making it only the third best US pair. At the 2014 World Championships in Amsterdam , the US eight won ahead of Canada and China. The following year on the Lac d'Aiguebelette, the eighth continued his series of victories at World Championships and Olympic Games, which has been going on since 2006, and won the title in front of the boats from New Zealand and Canada.

In the 2016 Olympic season, Opitz did not compete internationally, in 2017 she only rowed at the World Cup in Poznan. In 2018 she returned to eighth and won the title at the World Championships in Plovdiv . Together with Gia Doonan , she also took ninth place in the two without a helmsman.
