Meghan Musnicki

Meghan Musnicki (born February 5, 1983 in Naples , New York ) is an American rower and two-time Olympic champion in eighth .

Musicki started rowing in 2001. It was not until the 2010 World Cup finals in Lucerne that she made her international debut among the world's elite, when she won with the US eight and finished second with Zsuzsanna Francia in a two-man without helmsman . At the 2010 World Championships in New Zealand, Musnicki only started in the US eighth and won the world title straight away. In 2011 Francia and Musnicki started twice in the World Cup and achieved a second and a fourth place. At the 2011 World Championships in Bled, both rowed eighth and helped defend their title successfully. At the Olympic Games in London , Musnicki was back in the US eighth, who won the gold medal with Erin Cafaro , Zsuzsanna Francia, Esther Lofgren , Taylor Ritzel , Meghan Musnicki, Elle Logan , Caroline Lind , Caryn Davies and taxwoman Mary Whipple .

At the 2013 World Rowing Championships in Chungju , she won the gold medal in eighth as well as at the 2014 and 2015 World Championships . The winning streak of the US eighth at World Championships and Olympic Games, which has been going on since 2006, continued at the 2016 Olympic Games as Emily Regan , Kerry Simmonds , Amanda Polk , Lauren Schmetterling , Tessa Gobbo , Meghan Musnicki, Elle Logan, Amanda Elmore and helmswoman Katelin Snyder won ahead of the British and Romanians.

After a two year hiatus, Musnicki returned in 2019. With the eighth from the United States, she finished third at the World Championships in Linz behind the boats from New Zealand and Australia.
